The future of the planet and of generations to come depends strongly on what we are all able to do today.

Sustainability is in fact an act of responsibility and commitment that each of us can take to make our world a better place.

This is precisely why at GTEC we are constantly committed to making our business, our products and every aspect that concerns us sustainable, always paying the utmost attention to the impact generated on society and the surrounding environment.

Policy on quality, environment and safety

Our policy for quality, environment, and safety is based on the following principles:

  • Ensure the timely application of all technical product regulations and all applicable compliance obligations in force, also through the adoption of principles, standards, and solutions deemed “best practices” in terms of quality, environment, and occupational health and safety.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of customer requirements by assessing and monitoring their level of satisfaction.
  • Ensure the constant evaluation of environmental risks and risks to the health and safety of workers in order to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Provide safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work-related injuries or illnesses, and constantly adjust the processes needed to ensure the continuous improvement of occupational safety and health. Actively participate in research and innovation, promoting the development of technologies aimed at continuously reducing potential negative effects on workers’ safety and health.
  • Ensure the participation and consultation of workers, also through the workers’ safety representative, regarding occupational health and safety aspects.
  • Prevent all forms of pollution, reduce environmental impacts, promote actions for energy saving, the use of sustainable resources, waste reduction, and the fight against climate change.
  • Increase the sense of responsibility of all individuals working under our control, as well as of suppliers, towards quality, environment, and safety. In particular, promote the safety culture within the company through adequate information and training actions for both management and other personnel, and conduct regular checks on the results achieved.
  • Effectively manage processes and expand our presence in the markets.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the integrated management system and performance in terms of quality, environment, and safety.

Our vision of Corporate Social Responsibility goes beyond mere regulatory compliance and implies an integrated approach to the entire business activity, from material supply to product disposal.

This responsibility extends to all people involved in the company’s “ecosystem”: from employees, who act as ambassadors of the company’s values, to business partners who represent it globally.

Periodically, the Policy, Objectives, and implementation of the QAS Integrated Management System are reviewed to continuously pursue improvements in the level of environmental protection, customer satisfaction, and occupational safety and health within the company.

People

GTEC is first and foremost a nucleus of people committed to achieving shared goals.

The well-being of employees is one of our top priorities and to achieve this we strive to:

  • ensure a healthy and safe working environment
  • develop corporate welfare plans
  • encourage the growth of each employee through continuous training plans.

Each worker is also constantly updated and trained on environmental regulations and on what the company does to implement a more sustainable development model.

Certifications

To implement a sustainable development model it is necessary to outline a series of objectives and actions, step by step, that lead us to improve not only in terms of business results but also environmental performance.

Since 2009, GTEC has undertaken a process to certify the quality management system according to the ISO9001standard.
In the same way we have also obtained the ISO14001 certification for the Environmental Management System and ISO45001 certification for occupational health and safety.

All certifications are renewed cyclically following the relative periodic inspection checks.

Regulations

There are numerous environmental regulations that UPS manufacturers must comply with, in particular GTEC is committed to complying with the following provisions:

  • ANIE Code of Conduct on the autonomy of UPS: requires that the autonomy of the uninterruptible power systems and other performance values are defined according to the standards provided by the code itself, these statements make communication with customers more transparent.
  • REACH Regulation(Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals): provides for the traceability of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) substances in products and industrial processes throughout the supply chain.
  • WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment ): applies the concept of the extended responsibility of the manufacturer who is responsible for managing and financing the costs of recovery and treatment of its equipment at the end of its life. GTEC is committed to reducing and preventing the amount of equipment waste destined for landfill sites through the application of recycling policies.
  • European RoHS Directive: imposes the restriction of the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and certain flame retardants (PBBs and PBDEs) in electrical and electronic equipment above certain concentrations.

The GTEC uninterruptible power supply units are also accompanied by the declaration of conformity and CE marking, as required by EEC Directive 93/68 in force since 1st January 1995.

GTEC adopts transparent communication with all buyers and stakeholders: sharing truthful information about our products is not only our duty but also the most correct method to create valuable partnerships in the long term.

Products

Our goal is not only to put on the market technological products that meet the needs of customers, but also to introduce effective, durable and efficient solutions into the environment that surrounds us.

In fact, every day we constantly strive to make our uninterruptible power supplies even greener, using for example only high-quality components with a higher guaranteed average life.

Improving the performance of our UPS means not only increasing the performance of the same, but also reducing their environmental impact at every stage of their life cycle.

Service

At GTEC we have a Service unit that strongly contributes to reducing the environmental impact through the prompt recovery of reusable components, thus limiting the waste of materials.

The purpose of this area is not only to offer technical assistance, but also to extend the useful life of the products through preventive maintenance operations and prompt repairs, where necessary.

In fact, we have always aimed to minimize the replacement of products and components, preferring instead to repair them.

To this end, we have invested in the construction of a functional centre dedicated to the repair of electronic boards, which allows us to significantly reduce the turnover of this type of materials.
